Accademia delle Belle Arti, Brera.


Brera is Milan’s artistic centre and is one of the most beautiful areas of the city. The Pinacoteca Art Gallery, the Braidense National Library and the Accademia di Belle Arti (Art Academy) are located in the Palazzo Brera. In the exquisite courtyard, Antonio Canova’s bronze statue of Napoleon Bonaparte greets visitors to the Academy.

Brera è il centro artistico di Milano e una delle più belle aree della città. Nel bellissimo Palazzo Breara si trovano la Pinacoteca, la biblioteca nazionale Braidense e l'Accademia delle belle Arti. Nel cortile interno, la statua in bornzo di Napoleone Bonaparte, realizzata dal Canova, dà il benvenuto ai visitatori.

    Beautiful photo, but that’s what I call “idealize”! Napoleon was not that tall, and I bet he hadn’t such body. Nothing like being the dictator of Europe to look great on the portraits.

    Yes Carmen it’s “idealize”. The sculpture represent Napoleon like Mars the Roman God of War . The emperor holds the auction of the order and in the right hand a globe with the reproduction of the Victory.
